Types of Hyundai Keys We Replace and Program
Hyundai has transitioned through several key generations depending on the model year and trim level. Older Hyundais from the late 1990s through the mid-2000s typically use a basic transponder key — a metal-cut key with a small chip embedded in the head that must be synchronized with the car's ECU. Losing your only transponder key means the car won't start even with a perfectly cut blade, which is why proper chip programming is essential. We carry a broad inventory of transponder key blanks compatible with Hyundai's various chip types and can cut and program them on the spot.
Newer Hyundai models use flip keys with integrated remote fobs, proximity smart keys (also called FOBs for push-to-start vehicles), or full smart key systems where the key never needs to leave your pocket. Smart keys for models like the Hyundai Palisade, Sonata Sport, or Tucson Ultimate require both blade cutting and rolling-code programming to the vehicle's Body Control Module. We handle all of these key types with the same mobile, on-site approach — no tow truck, no dealer wait, no unnecessary downtime whether you're stranded at JFK, parked in Hewlett, or stuck in Inwood.
